5. Birth Doula

There are many types of Doulas practicing to support clients throughout the country. However, as a birth doula, I am to support and center the pregnant woman or birthing person's wants, needs, and choices. During the contract, I also will support family members - if desired. Birth doula roles are to support clients emotionally, physically, informationally, and continuously. Birth doulas do not catch the baby! I may share similar tasks as health care or social service providers (such as OBs, midwives, psychologists, and social workers) but I do not replace their roles. This is what team science approach means. Additionally, I implement trauma informed for those who have a history of trauma. Many conditions may resurface during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and post-partum. It takes a village to raise a family. You are not alone!

I. A prenatal visit for

birth plan + Q&A

This is the time where I get to know you more and/or your support person/people, your communication style, health conditions, and your Birth Plan.

II. Early labor call/visit/text

Whether you choose to have early labor in the hospital, birth center, or at your home, I will be there! I guide you to change positions and offer counter pressures to help you cope with this physiological process.

III. In-person/virtual

birth support

At this stage, I mostly join clients in-person unless there were public health emergencies restricting physical contact (e.g., the COVID-19 Pandemic). My support will assist clients who deliver vaginally, assisted, or even c-section.

IV. In-person immediate

after birth support

Upon transport to the post-partum unit or being discharged, I will stay for a few hours to ensure clients and family members get everything in order.

V. In-person/virtual

post-partum visits

Within 6 weeks of post-partum,

I reach out to clients for a 30 - 60 minute visit. We will create a Postpartum Support Plan. I will

also screen clients and family members for any conditions that arise in this 4th trimester, then provide refferal as needed.

USD 1,000.00 - 1,250.00 is for a standard birth support package I provide - mention above. For add-on, the rate is $35/increment of 30 minutes. Please fill out the birth inquiry below and I will get back to you for an interview.
