Health Education
As a certified health educator by NCHEC Inc, I offer guidance to adopt various healthy habits and/or stick with a habit for a long run using social & behavioral theories/models as well as centering clients' strengths & identity. Val offers both individualized or group sessions for various target audiences such as people of color, immigrants, low-income moms, and teenagers. Session mode is mostly virtual - depending on various circumstances.
Lifestyle modification offered:

Gender Based Violence Prevention: maintaining healthy relationships, establishing healthy boundaries, learning about individual agency, budgeting for financial well-being, and more.

Cardio-Kidney-Metabolic Health: learning to meal prep, quitting smoking, getting physically active, reading nutrition labels, consuming water instead of sugary drinks, and more.

Maternal Mental Health: developing schedule for a new mom, building healthy coping skills for a working first-time parent, utilizing birth spacing as family planning, and more.

Adolescence Health: developing seat-belt use habits, spending less screen time, improving social skills, introducing safe sexual practices, balancing off life as a student, and more.
